Washington, D.C. — Build American AI (BAAI) commends the White House for issuing the Executive Order Ensuring a National Framework for Artificial Intelligence, a decisive start establishing a unified, America-first approach to AI governance.
“The Executive Order makes it clear that creating a coherent AI national framework is a top priority," said Nathan Leamer, Executive Director of Build American AI. “Instead of 50 competing rulebooks, the Administration is laying out a clear federal policy roadmap that will accelerate deployment, and provide the clarity that entrepreneurs, and consumers have been asking for,” continued Leamer.
“This balanced approach sets forth a clear national AI standard while also enabling states to protect their consumers and address localized concerns without hindering innovation across the country,” said Leamer.

AI now influences healthcare, transportation, energy, education and the online environments where children live and learn. Congress must set clear and uniform national standards that protect kids and families. A national approach closes the cracks created by fragmented state laws and ensures responsible growth that shields every American household.
